BJ McKenna
BJ McKenna is a solicitors' practice in Stockport, regulated and working from two offices across personal and business law. They needed a site that did justice to fourteen areas of practice, that people searching locally could find, and that the practice could run itself. Where the site is hosted, which searches matter and how the firm presents itself were their decisions. This page shows where we started, what we built, what it has done and the parts it runs on.
How we built it
Every enquiry lands in one place, whichever door it came through. A practice that can see all its enquiries can answer all of them.
What they had before
The practice already had a website. We rebuilt it from the ground up rather than patching it, and organised the new one around their areas of practice and the towns they serve.
What we built
- Fourteen areas of practice, each with its own pages, and location pages for the places it serves.
- An insights blog, and pages for reviews, complaints, compliance and the legal pages a regulated firm publishes.
- An admin for the practice: blog, enquiries, messages and team profiles with photos, and an export of enquiries.
- One inbox for every enquiry, with a branded email going out when one arrives.
- Online booking on the consultation page, each booking landing in the same admin.
- Local search groundwork: the firm's details marked up for each office, page titles rewritten for local searches, and one address for the whole site.
- A clear call to action at the top of the home page, and the firm's terms of business as a download.
What it did
The rebuild was delivered in May 2026, and the first phase of local search work went live in June, checked on the live site. In August we tested booking end to end: a booking lands in the admin and sends the branded email. Changes to a team profile appear on the live site within the hour.
The parts
A modern web framework with its own login, one database and an admin panel, on the practice's own server. Bookings come in from the calendar through a small worker that writes each one into the same admin and sends the confirmation. And one design choice: every way in, a form, a message or a booking, ends in the same inbox, so nothing depends on someone remembering to check a second place.
What it took us
The rebuild took us to May 2026. The search work followed as a five-phase plan in June, and the first phase is done; the later phases, more content and the rest of the email flows are still to come.
